<br />
One of the things I've mastered is an adorable crocheted hat pattern from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/64364167/the-lizzy-cloche-crochet-pattern-sizes">Mandy</a> at <a href="http://littlebirdiesecrets.com/">Little Birdie Secrets</a>. (LOVE their blog!!) I've already had a couple custom orders from friends. :-) I make mine with a detachable flower that has both a pin AND an alligator clip on the back, so you can change them out and use them in your hair or on your scarf or coat...wherever you want a fun little accent! You can even clip one to a purse!<br />
<br />
I plan on adding this item to both my Etsy shop and my <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage/#%21/CraftyKitty?v=wall">Facebook store</a>, so stay tuned! (For a sneak peek, text me at 970-481-3261 and I will send you a pic of one of them!)<br />
<br />
I've also been making hair accessories like crazy! I've already listed some in my <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage/#%21/CraftyKitty?v=wall">Facebook store</a>. Click the "Shop Now" tab to see some of them.<br />
<br />
You can find my coffee sleeves, cell phone/camera cozies and hair accessories right now at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a> (hats to come soon!)<br />
<br />
In the mean time, here are a couple of samples:<br />

A card I made for a friend's wedding (tulle is all the rage right now and I am LOVING it! :-D )<br />

This was my first design:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC02097.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC02097.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
It was a bit of a challenge since that cartridge isn't a "feature" one. I basically had to cut the witch out a few different times using different colored paper each time, so I could layer them to make her cape purple and her broom tan.<br />
<br />
Then I used Stickles to give it texture and sparkle.<br />
<br />
<br />
This next card uses a die I bought from MFT's new line, <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=58">Die-namics</a>. It's the cutest little banner die that cuts banner pieces about 1 inch tall. The letters are from my Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC02135.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC02135.jpg" /></a><br />

Too busy to craft, let alone blog!<br />
<br />
But now that Fall is almost here it's time to get back into the swing of things! :-)<br />
<br />
I've been happily working on a bunch of new projects that I plan on sharing with you over the next few weeks! And I've been improving some old projects as well (new coffee sleeve designs and crocheted embellishments!)<br />
<br />
For now I'll show you my latest fun project: stamped tile coasters!<br />
<br />
This is a quick and inexpensive gift item that's super fun (and easy!) to make!<br />
<br />
You'll need:<br />
<br />
-Tumbled Marble Coasters (available at Lowes in boxes of 9. Couldn't find any at Home Depot. Go through the box first to make sure there are no broken ones!)<br />
<br />
-Felt or cork with a sticky back. (This is for the little "feet" on the bottom of coasters to keep them from scratching surfaces.I found mine at Lowes.) <br />
<br />
-Stazon ink (available at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture Scrapbooking</a>)<br />
<br />
-Various fun stamps in whatever pattern you like! Acrylic or wood both work just fine, but make sure you have an acrylic block for your stamp if you are using acrylic stamps!<br />
<br />
-Colored permanent markers such as Sharpie's (optional) <br />
<br />
<br />
Instructions:<br />
<br />
First, wash your tiles to get rid of the chalky dust and let them air dry.<br />
<br />
Next, choose your stamp(s) and how you'd like them to be arranged on your tile.<br />
<br />
Load up your stamps with your Stazon ink and start stamping! You'll want to be careful that your stamp doesn't slip (those tiles can be slippery!) and ruin your image. Lift it straight up when you are done to prevent smudging.<br />
<br />
Let it dry thoroughly.<br />
<br />
Once the ink has dried, you can color it in with your colored markers.<br />
<br />
When you are done, you'll want to bake them in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes to set the ink. This will help keep it from fading over time.<br />
<br />
Once they have cooled, put the felt or cork backing or "feet" on them and you are done! Easy as that!<br />
<br />
Here is a set I made using a now retired stamp set from Close To My Heart:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC02112-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC02112-1.jpg" /></a><br />
A closer view:<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC02113-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC02113-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />

<br />
The felt feet I used:<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC02117-1-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC02117-1-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Thanks for looking and check back soon for more posts and contests!<br />

Happy Crafting! <br />

<br />
June is a popular month for weddings, and in honor of that, I found a great wedding cake pic to inspire you!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=anemone-wedding-cake.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/anemone-wedding-cake.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I absolutely ADORE this cake!<br />
<br />
Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE black and white color combos. And I love scalloped edges as well. And the small dots incorporated into the scalloped edge and borders. And the beautiful flowers!! (I could go on!)<br />
<br />
So as soon as I saw this pic I knew I had to use it as a fun inspiration challenge!<br />
<br />
Here is my creation:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01332.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01332.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I used a <a href="https://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=3829&CatalogID=84">background stamp from CTMH</a> to mimic the polka dots on the cake. I also used Stickles in Black Diamond and Tiara to highlight the circle, kind of like the dotted icing does on the scalloped edges.<br />
<br />
I also added a large flower, and kept the colors simple, just like the pic of the cake.<br />
<br />
So, hopefully you'll get inspired by the pic I've chosen and come up with something fun too, be it a card, a layout, or any other paper crafting creation!<br />
<br />
Want to see what you're playing for?<br />
<br />
This month, I'm giving away a set of Prima Pebbles!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01335.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01335.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
These little self-adhesive "pebbles" are perfect in the center of flowers and make great accent pieces all by themselves! There are many different styles to choose from, available at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>.<br />
<br />
This set has a swirl pattern in fun summer colors, perfect for any occasion! :)<br />
<br />
To participate in the challenge, just make a paper crafted (or digital) creation based on the inspiration pic above, and upload the URL to your pic to the Mr. Linky widget below:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www2.blenza.com/linkies/links.php?owner=TheCraftyCat&postid=08Jun2010" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://www2.blenza.com/linkies/graphic.php?owner=TheCraftyCat&postid=08Jun2010" /></a><br />
<br />

<br />

She recently moved away (she's joining the Peace Corp, and right now, she's touring Europe. How cool is that?!?) So, sadly for us, it was also somewhat of a "goodbye" card. :(<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01275.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01275.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
For the circles, I used stamps from <a href="http://www.techniquetuesday.com/Image-Stamps/ISBL.html">Technique Tuesday</a> and <a href="http://www.basicgrey.com/scrapbook/shop/product/sta-1703/image:0">Basic Grey</a>. The sentiment and stamped flower are from <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/">My Favorite Things</a> (now retired).<br />
<br />
The white flower is cut from felt and tissue paper on my Cuttlebug. (Man I love that thing! I'm making felt hair barrettes and embellishments next!)<br />
<br />
The ruffle is just a crinkled strip of paper glued down with Terrifically Tacky Red Line Tape (available at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>) and covered at the top with some black ribbon.<br />
<br />
Now on to the challenge winner......<br />
<br />
Congratulations to Buffie (i.e. <a href="http://craftyguamgirl.blogspot.com/">Crafty Guam Girl</a>) for winning the May Challenge! She gets a custom made cell phone/camera cozy! Check out her cute card:<br />
<br />

<br />
Stay tuned for the newest challenge! I'm changing things up a bit and (hopefully) making it easier for more people to participate. More details to come!<br />

I finally decided I needed it. I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for at first, but then I remembered that my teensy <a href="http://www.scrapbook101.com/pd_mini_tote-ally_cool_2_totes.cfm">mini tote</a> was literally BURSTING with fun embellishments (like rhinestones, buttons and small acetate flowers and swirls) So I bought it to relieve my mini tote (lol). :)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01227.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01227.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The top opens up to reveal a pretty deep open storage compartment, perfect for all my sticky buttons and "bling".<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01228.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01228.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01229.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01229.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The 4 "drawers" are separate containers that pull out, perfect for my collection of brads!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01231.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01231.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
(and yes, I organized them all by color & style. I had to. It's my OCD. Everything I use...in the crafting world anyway...has to be colorized. :) Clockwise from the top, its: jumbo brads and loose buttons & baubles, specialty brads, including sparkle,<br />
rhinestone, flower shaped and fabric, neutral and metallic brads, and solid color brads.) <br />
<br />
Needless to say, this is my FAVORITE new toy! Want one of your own? There's one left at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>, so hurry in today!<br />
<br />
Next up: my Stickles container.<br />
<br />
You might think one could manage with a somewhat small container for these wonderful and versatile little tubes of glitter glue.<br />
<br />
Well, you'd be wrong.<br />
<br />
Seeing as how I own oh, about FORTY bottles of Stickles (what? That's not normal??) I needed a large container.<br />
<br />
AND, I wanted to be able to store them upside down so they didn't get those annoying air bubbles that threaten to ruin your lovely projects.<br />
<br />
So I bought this hugemongous monstrosity, known as my "color box". (I call it that b/c it's so big, I put all of my markers, <a href="https://www.trendyrightnow.com/shopping/default.asp?GID=16&__utma=1.643466374.1274218286.1274218286.1274218286.1&__utmb=1.1.10.1274218286&__utmc=1&__utmx=-&__utmz=1.1274218286.1.1.utmgclid=COqZ2oDR3KECFSkYagodbEn7IA%7Cutmccn=%28not%20set%29%7Cutmcmd=%28not%20set%29%7Cutmctr=smooch%20spritz&__utmv=-&__utmk=113247239">Smooch Spritz</a> sprays (available at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>!), colored flock and mini viles of glitter in there, as well as all my Stickles. So basically everything I need to color my world. :-) Well, everything except the dozens of ink pads I have, but that's another post, lol.)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01233.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01233.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01234.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01234.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
What is that funny looking list in there you say? Welp, my OCD is so bad, I had to make a list of my Stickle colors and an example of what they looked like dry. So I made one. Call me crazy, but anyone who scrapbooks with me always uses my handy little list so...... :P <br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01236.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01236.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
This wonderful storage container is also available at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>, along with a variety of different size containers.<br />
<br />
After I had organized all of my glitters and sprays and whatnot, I felt the need to create. So I made some more paper flowers, including a new style I found over at <a href="http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/">Little Birdie Secrets</a>!<br />
<br />
The first two are paper roses (find the tutorial for these <a href="http://craftykitty-thecraftycat.blogspot.com/2010/01/paper-rose-tutorial.html">here</a>). I used white paper heavily inked in red for the first one, and then stamped the 2nd one and sprayed it with white Smooch Spritz to give it a pearly shimmer. I also added a rhinestone to the center of the 2nd rose. They look better in real life than they do in these pics, but...what can ya do?<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01219.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01219.jpg" /></a><br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01222.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01222.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Next, I made some <a href="http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2010/04/box-top-flower-video-tutorial.html">Box Top Flowers</a> from Little Birdie Secrets. I didn't have a way to make a scalloped circle at the time, so I just made them with plain circles, but I liked the way they came out. I also sprayed one of them with my red Smooch Spritz. (Man that stuff is fun!)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01223.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01223.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
That's all for now. I hope you try making the flowers too! They're addictive!;-)<br />
<br />

It's fun and simple. :-)<br />
<br />
It's a sketch! :)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=Mojo134Sketch.png" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/Mojo134Sketch.png" /></a><br />
<br />
I haven't had time to create a card based on this sketch yet, but it's from the Mojo Monday blog, and there are a TON of great projects posted there using this sketch! <a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2010/04/mojo-monday-134.html">Check it out</a> for some inspiration!<br />
<br />
You aren't limited to creating a card either! This sketch would be cute on a layout too! Feel free to think outside the box! ;-)<br />
<br />
<br />
Want to know what you're playing for?<br />
<br />
This month, the winner will receive either a free camera/cell phone cozy OR a free coffee sleeve! You choose which item and what colors you'd like! (Pick any color of the rainbow...I pretty much have them all! You're not limited to the colors shown here. ;-)<br />
<br />

<br />
Congratulations to last month's winner, Jenny Petrillo! She made an absolutely adorable card using <i>three </i>different types of "shine"! :-) Check it out! (I think my fav. part is the clear acetate flower!) :<br />

<br />
Our house was perfect for a crop, with TWO living rooms and a nice kitchen & dining room, (plus 3 full bathrooms - perfect for a house full of women!)<br />
<br />
We had some GORGEOUS views too!<br />
<br />
This is the view from our back porch on Saturday morning:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01177.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01177.jpg" /></a><br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01178.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01178.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01179-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01179-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The fog was rolling in, and you could see the tip of the mountain poking through the top of the fog:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01180.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01180.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01181-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01181-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
It rained later that afternoon (perfect scrapbooking weather!) ;-)<br />
<br />
Here's the gang (minus Suzanne) at dinner:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01186-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01186-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01183.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01183.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Scrapbooking fun:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01187-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01187-2.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01188-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01188-2.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The weather on Sunday was absolutely PERFECT and the mountains looked BEAUTIFUL!!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01190.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01190.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01191.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01191.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01192-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01192-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01193.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01193.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Hello Elk! (we saw SO much wildlife during our stay!)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01194.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01194.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
On the way down the mountain, traffic came to an unusual stop:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01196-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01196-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
What's holding things up??<br />
<br />
A herd of BIG HORN RAMS!! SO COOL!!! (For those not familiar with driving up the mountain, this is a pretty rare sight!)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01197.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01197.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01198.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01198.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01199-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01199-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Oh, and this is what I got done over the weekend:<br />
<br />
(These first 3 layouts were actually created by Jody at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>. She designed them for a class back in November and I bought one of the kits. I just saved them for when I had time to scrapbook, then added my pics!)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01205.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01205.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Funny story about this layout...After I had finished laying everything out and then gluing it all down, I bumped my tool tote and knocked a dark brown ink pad FACE DOWN on the top, right where the white part is! I had to come up with something to hide it, so I made those two big snowflake embellishments at the top.) Whew! Crisis averted! ;-)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01206.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01206.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Notice the little red rhinestone on "Rudolph's" nose. :-)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01209.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01209.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Denver Zoo Lights:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01210.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01210.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
I added Glossy Accents to the word "Wild":<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01212.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01212.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=DSC01213-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/DSC01213-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
For these snowflakes, I ran them through my Cuttlebug to emboss them (I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder) then I Stickled the dots with Diamond Stickles.<br />

<br />
<br />
This snowflake shows some of the bling-y, Stickle-y goodness I have going on. What's a snowflake without Stickles?!? I just wish they photographed better. They're so pretty in real life!<br />

April Challenge!I have a fun NEW challenge for you this month!<br />
<br />
April's challenge: SHINE!!!<br />
<br />
I want to see your cards, layouts, or any other crafting project that incorporates shine! I want to see shiny, shimmer-y, and even GLOSSY on this challenge!<br />
<br />
Use shiny metallic paper......epoxy brads.....Glossy Accents......Embossing Powder......whatever it takes to put the shine & shimmer on your project!<br />
<br />
(Note: NOT sparkle....that's another challenge altogether! You can use glitter if you want, but I want this to look wet & slick!)<br />
<br />
Here is my example (and hopefully an inspiration to you!)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01167-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01167-1.jpg" /></a><br />
I used a big epoxy brad, and added Glossy Accents to the "Thanks" and the little scalloped edge that I stamped using American Craft's Spring stamp set "Warble" (available at <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>!). I also used Spellbinders Nestabilities dies to create the white & blue pannels, and ran them both through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing plates (also available at Capture!), giving them a polka-dot texture (FUN!)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01172-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01172-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
A better view of the SHINE I have going on on this card: <br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01170-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01170-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Wanna know what you're playing for?<br />
<br />
An ADORABLE set of brads from My Mind's Eye!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01175-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01175-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
These are great on cards, scrapbook layouts, in the center of flowers or circles....I've even used them in my crochet projects! (I add them to the center of large flowers for my coffee sleeves and cell phone cozies!)<br />
<br />
A closer look:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01176-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01176-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
So, if you'd like to win them, just submit your entry using the Mr Linky widget below by <b>SUNDAY, MAY 2nd at midnight!</b><br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
No one got their entry in for the March challenge. :( So there is no winner. You have to play if you want to win!! ;-)craftykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18304959874774295640noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6824884647945939971.post-73487375682402171932010-04-01T14:43:00.000-07:002010-04-01T14:43:05.906-07:00Window Card Class<div style="text-align: center;">Are you in Northern Colorado?</div><div style="text-align: center;">Do you love making cards or other paper crafting projects?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

(Seriously, my family has told me I sound like a commercial sometimes.)<br />
<br />
So why not do it in my blog?<br />
<br />
While browsing around on Etsy one day last week, I came across a cute shop called <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/themorbidthemerrier?section_id=6557257">The Morbid The Merrier</a>. I wasn't really looking for new bath & perfume products, but the unique photos caught my eye (as did the shop title.)<br />
<br />
I found <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=43827742">this </a>wonderful perfume!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01162.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01162.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Dessert Absinthe Perfume Oil. (actually, this one is a solid...kind of like a lip balm, but not greasy at all. And it comes in the cutest little tin!)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01163-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01163-1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I HAD to have some, so I bought it, and a few days later it arrived in the mail.<br />
<br />
It smells SO good. It's very light & citrus-y, with a little hint of licorice (yum!)<br />
<br />
Actually, the shop owner can describe it better:<br />
<br />
<blockquote>"This perfume oil is absinthe..... with a twist.<br />
<br />
I took my usual absinthe perfume oil and softened it with cream and sugar and soft citrus. Upon opening, the first notes are lemon, sugar, and anise - very reminiscent of a lemon sugar cookie. After wearing it for just a few minutes, however, the bottom notes emerge... woodsy, earthy, mysterious, and alluring. I created this perfume for those who prefer something softer and more feminine than traditional absinthe."</blockquote><br />
I can't decide if I should wear it or eat it! ;-)<br />
<br />
I can't wait to try the sugar scrub and lip balm next!craftykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18304959874774295640noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6824884647945939971.post-5133567981386073242010-03-23T19:09:00.000-07:002010-03-23T19:11:52.877-07:00Vendor Spotlight: Save The Date OriginalsMan have I been BUSY lately! A little too busy to keep up with my blog. :(<br />
<br />
BUT I have been working on some great craft projects (featured in my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheCraftCat">Etsy Shop</a> and coming VERY soon to <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture Scrapbooking</a>!)<br />
<br />
To help promote my blog & shop, I needed some spiffy new business cards, so I turned to my friend Angela from <a href="http://savethedateoriginals.com/">Save The Date Originals</a> to help me come up with something FANTASTIC, and did she ever!<br />
<br />
I wanted the business cards to have the same feel that my blog & Etsy shop do, and this is what she came up with:<br />
<br />
This is the front of the business card. My info is on the back. (How cool is that idea?!) <br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=GetAttachmentaspx.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/GetAttachmentaspx.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And I ordered some magnets too!<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/?action=view&current=GetAttachmentaspxe.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/GetAttachmentaspxe.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
They are to be included with every order from The Crafty Cat so get yours today! ;-)<br />
<br />
Angela has made many items for me in the past, ranging from announcements to business cards to invitations. Her work is excellent, as is her customer service! Be sure to check out her website and keep her in mind for your all stationary needs.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And remember, there are still just a couple weeks left to participate in the <a href="http://craftykitty-thecraftycat.blogspot.com/2010/03/february-challenge-update-and-new-march.html">March Challenge</a> and win a Stickles bottle of your choice! Too busy in fact to keep up with a <i>weekly </i>challenge. So I've decided to make it a monthly one instead (which works out considering there is only 1 winner each month anyway!)<br />
<br />
SO, there is no new challenge today. <a href="http://craftykitty-thecraftycat.blogspot.com/2010/03/february-challenge-update-and-new-march.html">The challenge from last week</a> will be the only one in March, and you have until Sunday, April 4th to upload your photo to the Mr. Linky widget and be eligible to win your choice of Stickles. :)<br />
<br />
Now, on to the February challenge winner!<br />
<br />
It was VERY hard to choose a winner! The cards for both challenges were absolutely adorable and a lot of work went into them! Fun colors, techniques and embellishments!<br />
<br />
But there can only be one winner, and Jenny is it this month for her Thank You card!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=4395760421_169db8ed82.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/4395760421_169db8ed82.jpg" /></a><br />
I just loved the colors she used, and how the sentiment is sparkly. :) Very simple, yet elegant. Way to go Jenny! Your hand crocheted flowers will be mailed out to you very soon!<br />
<br />
As for the March challenge, be sure to play if you want to win!<br />
<br />

All of grandma's children and grandchildren were to make 2-4 pages each of our own families, or pics of us with grandma. Such an awesome gift idea! I think she'll really love it. :)<br />
<br />
Here are the ones I made for her:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01088.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01088.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01091.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01091.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01094.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01094.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01096.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01096.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
A couple pics of the details:<br />
<br />
I used Glossy Accents on inked up chipboard pieces for the title.<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01090.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01090.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I had some cute flower stickers and a set of green swirl embellishments that matched the paper ("<a href="https://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/Retail/Products.aspx?CatalogID=1450">Magic Moments</a>" from CTMH) perfectly! <br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01098.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01098.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Psst, wanna know a secret?<br />
<br />
<br />
The "A" in "Family" is the only letter that's not chipboard! I didn't have an "A" in that set, but I DID have the piece the "A" used to be in, so I traced the outline onto my layout, colored it in with a black marker, and used Glossy Accents on each letter to disguise it. That's also why there is a tiny flower on the "A". I didn't have the little triangle piece that's inside an "A", so the flower hides that. ;-)<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Now, on to the NEW March challenge!<br />
<br />
This week's challenge is an "Inspiration" challenge! If you read <a href="http://www.moxiefabworld.com/">the Moxie Fab World blog</a>, you'll know that each Tuesday is <a href="http://www.moxiefabworld.com/search/label/Tuesday%20Trigger">Trigger Tuesday</a>, where they'll post a photo of an item, an ad in a catalog, anything that inspires them to create a beautiful paper crafted item!<br />
<br />
Since I like that idea so much, I'm totally stealing it! ;-) (This is just for fun of course.)<br />
<br />
Soooooo, here is the inspiration for this challenge:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=page1lg.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/page1lg.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Pretty, isn't it? I Googled some things and found it <a href="http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.corelle.com/usr/Pages/page1lg.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.corelle.com/index.asp%3FpageId%3D40&usg=__lPUpVv7IQg9GRUvic_vhbYGMaYo=&h=433&w=438&sz=24&hl=en&start=57&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=Oh_OXiwSm0pCGM:&tbnh=126&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dspring%2Bdish%2Bsets%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN%26start%3D40%26um%3D1">here</a> (in case anyone was wondering). <br />
<br />
And this is what I created from the inspiration:<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01101.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01101.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I finished the inside this time, instead of leaving it blank:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01102.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01102.jpg" /></a><br />
(the sentiment says "<i>My life is so blessed...because you are in it!</i>")<br />
<br />
I added some sheen to the flowers and leaves with a <a href="http://www.sakuraofamerica.com/Pen-3d-pen">Sakura Glaze Pen</a>. It doesn't make things super shiny and glossy the way <a href="http://www.rangerink.com/products/prod_inkssentials_glossy.htm">Glossy Accents</a> does, but it gives it, well, a GLAZED look, hence the name "<i>glaze pen</i>" lol. ;-)<br />
But you can't really tell in these pics. :(<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01104.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01104.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The stamp sets I used were <a href="https://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/Home.aspx">CTMH's</a> "Because of You" (now retired) and a rubber cling set I bought years ago for two bucks. :) <br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01100.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01100.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
So, use this as your inspiration, and post a pic of your creation below using the Mr. Linky widget! Your creation can be any paper crafted item (card, scrapbook layout, mini album, etc.) or a digital layout if you prefer.<br />
<br />
This is just the first of the March challenges! A new one will be posted each Monday in March and one winner for the whole month will be chosen by Monday, April 5th and announced in that week's challenge post.<br />
<br />
This month, you'll be playing for the <a href="http://www.rangerink.com/products/prod_decorativeglue_stickles.htm">Stickles Glitter Glue</a> bottle of your choice! If you haven't discovered Stickles yet, you're really missing out! It's a glitter glue made for scrapbooking, and it has a fine tip for creating detail. You can add it to flowers, letters, trace any pattern on your paper to enhance it, make your plain brads sparkly...the possibilities are endless!<br />
<br />
So play this month for your chance to win! (Stickle color choices are limited to their regular line. Specialty Stickles (distressed and Glitz styles) are not included in the selection.)<br />

<br />
If you haven't seen it yet, Moxie Fab World is having an <a href="http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/02/stamp-it-cards-week-hop-your-way-to.html">"Olympics of Stamping" Challenge for Stamp It! Cards Week</a>. It's so exciting! So I decided to play along. :-)<br />
<br />
The rules for this challenge were to create a card in the following themes: Birthday, Thank You, Season's Greetings, Hello/Thinking of You, and Love.<br />
<br />
You could do just one entry/theme, or you could participate in all five! And the best part is that it coincides with this year's <a href="http://www.papercraftsmag.com/contests/stamping_royalty.html">Stamping Royalty Contest</a>! So not only can you participate in The Olympics of Stamping, but you can submit the same cards to Paper Crafts for the Stamping Royalty Contest! Woo-Hoo!<br />
<br />
So I just HAD to participate! It's too fun!<br />
<br />
Sooooo, here is my first card. It's for the Birthday category and I'm so excited about it!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01069.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01069.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01070.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01070.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01074.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01074.jpg" /></a><br />
The paper is from <a href="http://www.diecutswithaview.com/product_view.php?id=1045">DCWV</a> and the stamps are MFT's <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=756">"Lovin From the Oven"</a>, <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=246">"What's Up Cupcake?"</a> and <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=757">"Clearly Sentimental About Food" </a>and the journaling circle is from <a href="http://www.kaisercraft.net/products/craft-embellishments/clear-stamps.html">Kaiser Craft's "Journal Blocks"</a> (style # CS705).<br />
<br />
I stamped it in <a href="https://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/Retail/Products.aspx?CatalogID=36">CTMH's Black ink pad</a> and colored it in with various <a href="https://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=1002&CatalogID=165">watercolor pencils</a> and a <a href="https://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=166">blending pen</a>. Then I made the icing and the flame of the candle shine with <a href="http://www.rangerink.com/products/prod_inkssentials_glossy.htm">Glossy Accents</a>. (I also added it to the dots on the circle stamp.) :) You can *sort of* see it in this pic:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01075.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01075.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The sparkly swirl is from <a href="http://www.zvacreative.com/index.html">ZVA Creative</a>.<br />
<br />
What do you think?? I love the way it came out. I can't wait to create more cards in all the other categories!<br />
<br />
If you would like to participate, the Olympics of Stamping entries must be submitted by March 8th, and the Stamping Royalty Contest submissions must be postmarked by March 24th.<br />
<br />
Let me know if you decide to participate! I'd love to see your creations as well! :)<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking!<br />

Not only is this example of mine a challenge for all of MY followers, but it's an entry in the <a href="http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/02/lets-have-some-fun-with-floss.html">Moxie Fab World's "Fun With Floss" challenge</a>!<br />
<br />
This week, my challenge to you is to create a St. Patrick's Day themed card or layout. Simple, no?<br />
<br />
But to add to it, I decided to make it a card using embroidery floss as well so I could participate in the Moxie Fab Challenge (my first online challenge entry ever!)<br />
<br />
So here is my entry/weekly challenge example:<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01025.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01025.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I used THREE different stamp sets (that I will show you in the tutorial to follow) and hand stitched the four leaf clover and stem:<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01024.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01024.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
A couple close-up views:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01026.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01026.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01027.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01027.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
That's it! Just upload your St. Patrick's Day themed card or layout (with or without floss) by Feb. 28th for your chance to win a set of hand crocheted flowers using the Mr. Linky below. (For full contest rules, click <a href="http://craftykitty-thecraftycat.blogspot.com/search/label/contests">here</a>.)<br />
<br />
Now for my tutorial:<br />
<br />
First off, this Moxie Fab challenge is right up my alley because I've been using embroidery floss for a while making my little flowers for <a href="http://www.shopcapture.com/Site/Home.html">Capture</a>, and I just recently learned how to crochet some little<a href="http://craftykitty-thecraftycat.blogspot.com/search/label/crochet%20projects"> iopd/cell phone cozies</a>. So I am ALL about the stitching & floss and all that great stuff right now.<br />
<br />
I didn't actually have the right sized shamrock or 4 leaf clover, so I needed to improvise. I searched through my stash of flower stamps hoping SOMETHING would look shamrock-esque and I found one!<br />
<br />
I stamped this flower image (a stamp set I bought at Jo Ann's a long time ago for a dollar) and added the shamrock-y border by hand with a fine tip marker:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01009.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01009.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Then I used a paper piercer to punch holes in it:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01010.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01010.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01011.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01011.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I stitched in some brown embroidery floss with a big needle to complete the "shamrock" look (is it a shamrock or just a 4 leaf clover? What's the difference? Do shamrocks just have the 3 leaves? I don't know. Anyway....:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01012.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01012.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I colored it in with a colored pencil & a blending pen (both from <a href="http://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/">Close To My Heart</a>. Also pictured is the ink pad I used: New England Ivy):<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01014.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01014.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Then I cut it out and inked the edges:<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01015.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01015.jpg" /></a> <br />
<br />
This pic shows the flower pot and "stem" I stamped, paper pieced and stitched. (I was originally going to pop the flower pot up with foam squares, hence the green coloring, but I changed my mind after putting the card together.):<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01013.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01013.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
These are the stamp sets I used: So Sweet Seasons, (now retired) <a href="https://marianqcreations.myctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=3836">With Love</a>, and the nameless one I bought at Jo Ann's dollar section. ;-)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01017.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01017.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
So that's pretty much how I did it. The patterned paper came from Me & My Big Ideas. If you have any questions about it, just ask!<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking and be sure to post your entry by Feb. 28th to be eligible to win the crocheted flowers! (and if you use floss in your entry, be sure to participate in the Moxie Fab challenge as well!)<br />

<br />
If you're interested in ordering some I can do custom orders. Just email me at <a href="mailto:craftykitty79@hotmail.com">craftykitty79@hotmail.com</a>!<br />
<br />
<br />
Blue w/flowers & a ruffled edge: <br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC00993.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC00993.jpg" /></a><br />

<br />
A purple/yellow/green variegated one: <br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC00999.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC00999.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC00998.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC00998.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
This one is smaller (only the 2nd one I made...I was still working out the pattern) but I love how the flower doubles as the button closure!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01000.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01000.jpg" /></a><br />

<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01002.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01002.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Another variegated pattern:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01004.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01004.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
They hold a ton of stuff!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/?action=view&current=DSC01005.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/milo_badkitty/scrapbooking%20stuff/DSC01005.jpg" /></a><br />
